“Setting up camp under the gaze of Mt Cook was an unforgettable experience. What makes or breaks a trip, are the people you are with. I was lucky to find two incredible and inspiring travel companions from my international student dorm in Auckland I was living in - one was from Sweden and the other from Colorado. The four-day Ball Pass traverse trek was completely off-trail, guided only by GPS coordinates we found online. That’s half the fun: true exploration, arriving at a stunning location with no beaten path, limited only by willpower and navigation skills.  We stumbled on to this god-tier campsite and the weather was kind as well - dropping to around 40 degrees at night and there was no wind to break the stillness.”
